Neiko saiṋcita shubha saḿskár-phal
Vedanásikta cokhe lavańákta jal
Tái ki dúre sarecho

Tava pújásthaliir ámi je mrt-pradiip
Kampra vakśe duli' jena ádh phot́á niip
Gharmalipta bhále kuruvinda t́ip
Bhule' gecho bháloi karecho

নেইকো আমার প্রিয় বুদ্ধি-ধৃতি-বল

তব পূজাস্থলীর আমি যে মৃৎপ্রদীপ
কম্প্র বক্ষে দুলি' যেন আধ ফোটা নীপ
ঘর্মলিপ্ত ভালে কুরুবিন্দ টিপ
ভুলে' গেছ ভালোই করেছ

Darling, myself You've forgotten.
There are many loving You still more;
A petty 'I' You have sounded.

My Dear, no intellect, patience, or strength have I;
There is no stored-up fruit of samskara benign.
Salty water from pain-wet eyes...
Is that why far away You've retreated?

I am Your place-of-worship's earthen lamp,
In trembling breast, asway like half-blown kadam.
The ruby dot upon a forehead sweat-dabbed
